Smoked & Loaded
A high-energy grill concept built for a restaurant that takes its smoke seriously — dark, bold, and impossible to scroll past.
The goal was to build a homepage concept for a Belizean grill-style restaurant that communicates one thing above all: this place means business. No soft colours, no generic food photography layout — just raw brand energy, real food photography, and a site that earns the visit before the customer even reads the menu.
A grill concept that hits hard.
Most local restaurant sites fall flat — too light, too polished, no personality. The brief here was the opposite: build something that feels like smoke, fire, and appetite the moment the page loads. Dark, aggressive, and totally specific to what this restaurant actually is.
Raw energy through contrast.
A near-black base with three accent colors — crimson, ember orange, and smoked gold — used across headline words to mirror the menu itself. Barlow Condensed at full uppercase weight for all hero typography, DM Sans for body. A food photo carousel and a full-width impact banner section round out the scroll.
A concept ready to convert.
The demo is production-ready on Squarespace 7.1. Any grill, BBQ spot, or casual dining restaurant in Belize could launch the same day — with a homepage that communicates quality, creates appetite, and drives table reservations or WhatsApp orders immediately.
The complete concept.
What went into every section.
Every design decision pointed at one target: make the visitor feel the heat before they order. Here's what went into each section of the page.
