Homestyle Bakery — CDG Designs
Food & Beverage Concept

Homestyle Bakery

A warm, community-rooted bakery concept built to feel like a neighbourhood staple — familiar, inviting, and impossible to walk past.

The goal was to build a bakery concept that could convert first-time visitors into regulars before they ever step through the door. The site needed to communicate homemade quality, daily freshness, and a welcoming personality — anchored in the kind of comfort food Belizeans actually love.

The Brief

A bakery that felt like home.

Most food sites feel transactional. The brief here was to build something warmer — a concept that communicated daily freshness and neighbourhood familiarity, even without an existing brand name attached to it.

The Solution

Comfort through composition.

A soft cream and warm white palette with Playfair Display headings and muted terracotta accents. A full menu section, customer reviews, and a hero built around the food itself — letting the product do the selling.

The Outcome

Ready to launch tomorrow.

The demo is fully production-ready on Squarespace 7.1. Any homestyle bakery or breakfast spot in Belize could plug in their menu, photos, and hours and go live with a site that immediately reads as credible and established.

What went into every section.

Every design decision was made to answer one question: does this feel like a place worth visiting? Here's what went into each section of the page.

Full-bleed hero — Homemade comfort, served daily.
A cinematic overhead food photograph at full viewport height. The headline leads with warmth and rhythm. A single "View menu" CTA below — no clutter, no competing elements.
Google Reviews ticker — real social proof on scroll
Four rotating customer reviews with names, star ratings, and full excerpts. Positioned directly below the hero, this section converts scepticism into trust before the visitor reaches the menu.
Full menu section — Biscuits and Bakery categories
A clean two-category menu grid (Biscuits, Bakery) with product images, item names, and prices. Each item has a short description that sells the flavour — not just the name. Structured for easy Squarespace management.
Biscuit lineup — Chicken, Ham, Bacon, Sausage builds
Seven biscuit variations presented in a three-column photo grid with cutout product images. Each item is clearly priced and described — built to mirror the experience of reading an in-store menu board.
Bakery items — Muffins, Lottie's Littles, Everything Bagel
Four bakery items in a matching grid format — same visual hierarchy, same warm product photography treatment. Ends with a prominent "Place your order" CTA to drive conversion.
Footer — Location, Hours, Contact in three columns
Clean three-column footer with address, operating hours (Monday–Friday), and contact details. Functional, structured, and laid out for quick scanning — the way a returning customer would use it.
