The brief was to build a skincare and beauty retail concept that could serve any Belizean beauty business looking to compete with international brands online. The site needed to feel premium without being cold — dark, confident, and commerce-ready from the first scroll.

The Brief

A beauty brand that felt international.

Most local beauty retailers look like catalogue pages. The goal was to build something that matched the visual weight of Sephora or Aesop — confident, editorial, and built to convert — within the Squarespace ecosystem.

The Solution

Dark luxury through controlled contrast.

A near-black base with off-white type and subtle warm tones in the product imagery. Category tiles, a featured products grid, brand logo strip, and a two-column brand story — each section layered to build purchase intent progressively.

The Outcome

A concept ready to sell.

The demo is fully production-ready on Squarespace 7.1. Any beauty or skincare retailer in Belize could swap in their brand, products, and photography and launch the same day — with a site that communicates premium quality immediately.

What went into every section.

Every design decision was made to serve one goal: make a visitor feel like they're shopping somewhere worth their money. Here's what went into each section of the page.

A cinematic macro beauty product photograph at full viewport height. "Your Ritual. Elevated." in bold serif with a muted subline. A horizontal category strip — Fragrance · Skincare · Body Care · Hair Care — anchors the offering above the fold.
Shop by category — four product tiles with image and label
Four full-bleed photo tiles on a near-black background. Each tile carries the category name and a brief descriptor line. Dark overlay on imagery keeps the layout cohesive while letting the product photography breathe.
Featured Products grid — four cards with name and price
"Handpicked For You" eyebrow label above a clean white-background grid. Four product cards with square imagery, product name, and price. The contrast shift from the dark hero to a white products section creates a natural pace break.
Brands we carry — logo strip with recognisable names
The Ordinary, Vaseline, Sephora, Cetaphil, e.l.f. — displayed as a clean horizontal logo row. Builds instant credibility by associating the concept with trusted international brands at a glance.
Brand story section — two-column with interior imagery
"Beauty, Elevated for Everyone." headline in a dark panel. Warm bathroom interior photograph on the left, brand narrative copy and Read More CTA on the right. Closes the page with emotional context and a secondary conversion point.
