Build Your Bowl — CDG Designs
Food & Beverage Concept

Build Your Bowl

A homepage concept for a build-your-own bowl restaurant — bold editorial layout, decisive red and cream palette, and a content flow built to drive orders.

The concept was inspired by the Chipotle-style bowl format making its way to Belize for the first time. The goal was to communicate freshness, customization, and clear ordering intent — without looking like a generic fast-casual template. Everything had to feel local, confident, and worth visiting.

Build Your Bowl — Hero section
The Brief

A first-of-its-kind concept that needed to look the part.

Build-your-own bowl dining was new to Belize. The homepage had to introduce the format, communicate the customization experience, and convince first-time visitors to actually place an order — all on a single page.

The Solution

Editorial layout with commercial clarity.

Split-screen hero, stacked serif headings in bold red and cream, and a structured content flow: hero intro, taste teaser, step-by-step bowl builder, menu preview, ordering instructions, and catering services. Every section moves the visitor toward an order.

The Outcome

A concept ready to go live.

The demo is production-ready on Squarespace 7.1. Any build-your-own restaurant entering the Belizean market could plug in their menu, photos, and pricing and launch with a site that immediately reads as credible and professional.

What went into every section.

Every design decision was made to serve one goal: make a first-time visitor understand the concept immediately and feel confident enough to order. Here's what went into each section of the page.

Split-screen hero — "Fresh. Bold. Yours."
Left column with stacked serif headlines in bold black and red, a subline introducing Belize's first build-your-own bowl experience, dual CTAs, and key stats ($15 starting price, 1100ml bowl size, nationwide delivery). Right column: full-height bowl photography with a floating price card.
Taste teaser — "You get to taste before we open"
A pre-launch tease section with editorial copy and a staggered two-image food photography layout. Builds anticipation and communicates the freshness of the ingredients before the menu is even shown.
How to build your bowl — 4-step process
Numbered step cards in a four-column layout: Choose Your Base, Pick Your Beans, Select Your Protein, Load the Toppings. Each step includes selectable options as tags (e.g. White Rice, Black Beans, Grilled Chicken). Demonstrates the customization model at a glance.
Menu section — 3 signature bowls
Grid layout with full-bleed food photography, bowl names, descriptions, pricing, and a Build Your Own CTA. The Classic Bowl, The Big Back Bowl, and Build Your Own cover the full spectrum from approachable to premium.
How to order — phone and WhatsApp
Dark section with a numbered 4-step order flow: Provide Details, Choose Payment, Shipping if Required, Place Your Order. Includes phone numbers and a clear note about order confirmation. Removes friction for first-time customers unfamiliar with the format.
Full catering services section
Two-column layout: full-bleed catering food photography left, catering pitch right. Targets corporate events, weddings, and family functions with a Get a Quote CTA. Extends the revenue proposition beyond single orders.
