Belize Water Services
A concept rebrand of BWS — taking inspiration from Belize's national water authority and rebuilding it as a modern, credibility-first government utility site.
BWS is one of Belize's most essential public institutions, yet their digital presence didn't reflect that. This practice project studied the existing site and existing brand, then rebuilt the homepage from scratch — cleaner structure, stronger hierarchy, and a palette that communicates reliability without feeling cold. Built on Squarespace 7.1 Fluid Engine as a portfolio exercise.
A national utility that deserved a better presence.
BWS serves over 294,000 residents across Belize — but their website didn't reflect the scale or credibility of that mission. The self-set challenge: study what they had, identify the gaps, and build a homepage that immediately communicates public trust.
Structure, hierarchy, and deliberate colour.
A Deep Teal and Burnt Orange palette with Fraunces headings and Inter body copy. The layout follows a clear information hierarchy — stat-heavy hero, quick-access services strip, operations overview, and a news section. Every section earns its place.
A portfolio piece that proves range.
Building a government utility site requires different instincts than a restaurant or gym — restraint, information density, and institutional credibility over personality. This project demonstrates that range and stands as a reference for pitching similar Belize clients.
The complete concept.
What went into every section.
Every design decision served one goal: make a visitor immediately understand they are on a trusted, competent, government-grade platform. Here is what went into each section of the page.
